If the patient needs to be seen as an emergency: the emergency eye doctor should be bleeped – GPs/ optoms should call 020 7794 0500 extension 33625 or bleep 1758. After this a referral document can be emailed to rf-tr.eyecasualty@nhs.net If there is no answer to the bleep/ phone then email the above address and in the subject line write Call back urgently for advice please (and leave a reliable number). If a patient with a clinical concern makes contact with yourselves and is known to us, then they need to attend our general casualty for review and then they will discuss with the clinic about accepting the patient in hours or call the on call doctor when out of hours. If attend anywhere has assessed/ triaged the patient already and then needs to be physically seen by us as they are local to us, then please either contact the clinician on call in casualty on 020 7794 0500 extension 33625 or bleep 1758 if it is an emergency, or email through to us the letter from the consultation with the patient's details and we can call them to arrange an appointment if not urgent.
